Bioenergy – a rapidly growing industry among international energy markets
International Conference “The Possibility of Using and Producing Biogas in Romania” as part of the ENREG ENERGIA REGENERABILA® 2009 in Arad
Biogas plants are currently widespread in central Europe, and becoming more popular all the time. In eastern and southern Europe on the other hand, the share of biogas is comparatively low, despite the great potential in these regions. The potential can not only be seen in the use of renewable resources, but also in the use of refuse from agricultural and industrial waste that currently pose a big problem for eastern Europe.
Romania has been developing biogas technology for more than 50 years. The first industrial plant was put into operation at the end of the 1970’s and produced 2,000 m3 of biogas a day. Ten more sewage plants were installed in the late 1980’s and produced more than 30 million m3 of biogas a year. At the same time, several smaller plants with a capacity of 5 to 10 m3 per day were added. This gave Romania several thousand plants at the end of the 1980’s. Due to the political changes, the biogas market was starkly reduced. To help make Romania competitive in the biogas market, important knowledge about current technology must be exchanged.
In order to facilitate this exchange of information, the international conference “The Possibility of Using and Producing Biogas in Romania” offers the ideal platform, which will bring together scientific and economic experts on March 26th, 2009 in Arad, to discuss the depths of the biogas sector.
The conference will start with an overview of the different aspects of the Romanian biogas market. Further presentations will deal with the financing of biogas plants, new applications, waste usage and disposition as well as the use of biogas as fuel. The conference will wrap up with reports on practical implementations and developments of biogas projects in Hungary. Renowned experts from research and development as well as numerous reports on practical applications from notable plant developers and constructors guarantee a highly productive conference. The conference languages are English and Romanian.
The conference is aimed at people and institutions that deal with the production and use of biogas. This may include the automobile industry, banks, planners and developers, agriculture and forestry producers, suppliers, municipal authorities and administrations, local utilities and energy suppliers, investors and operators as well as research and development.
The conference will be enhanced by the exhibition of the ENREG ENERGIA REGENERABILA® 2009 taking place from March 26th - 28th, 2009. The range of topics spans from biogas, wood energy, solar energy, cogeneration, geothermal energy, heat pumps, hydro power, wind energy to energy efficient construction and renovation.
